Right. It should be an easy enough fix, actually. I'd need to see the prosthetics, but I think I can come up with something more practical. I take it you don't mind if I take a look?
[This kid seems antsy, which is why he asks instead of immediately crouching down.]
[ Oh. Well, that's a relief. He carefully hoists himself up to sit on the workbench now, then, and lowers his socks to at least show where the start of the prosthetic is. He doesn't bother taking them off yet, but he does point out where the sharp shards of Originium practically digs into where the prosthetic is. It's a little miserable moving around like this... ]
I would prefer new ones entirely, as the thought of being without a means to get around worries me. Unless you have wheelchairs or something else available here, but I doubt that.
A modification might be harder anyhow, yes. I can build you entirely new ones. Let me take measurements.
[He will get up and come back with a tape measure and notepad. Time to start measuring, 'scuse him while he grabs your leggies.]
I'm thinking of a design that will take the pressure off the bottom of your legs here. It will involve something with a jointed piece on the side, so the attachment will be a band above the knee, like sock garters. That jointed spot will allow me to pad the inner part of the prosthetic with cloth — which you'll likely have to replace as the wear goes on — to alleviate the pressure from standing. It'll still be seamless, but you might not be able to cover it with your socks anymore.
[ He's allowed! Mephisto won't stop him, and will move as needed without too much resistance. His crutch is still clutched onto nervously, but he doesn't think Gnosis is going to hurt him. Not unless he's really, really good at hiding his body language... ]
That annoying, but not completely unbearable. I would choose not being able to hide it over being able to walk in comfort. How long do you think that'd take to make?
I've made and fixed prosthetics for people here before. I'd need time to make them efficient, so I'd say about a month. [the way they'll be done by the end of this month because i tag at the speed of slow] I'd work faster if I didn't fear that rushing them would cause them to be of poor quality.
I'll get them done, and if you have any other needs, just come by and let me know. Luckily, due to how they'll be constructed, I won't have to surgically attach a base or anything.
[You know, like he had to do with Wolfwood, and like Vash has currently. He really should not be trusted with surgery okay.]
…My statement wasn’t less true, even if you are only part time. What’s with them having their fingers in every pie, anyway…
[ Sigh. ]
No, I think that’s all. If you can, make sure they’re lightweight. I know it’s probably standard, but if you need material that’ll help with that, I’m obviously fine with helping…

[ Which is Mephisto's way of saying "thank you" without those words explicitly. ]
You Rhodes Ops can be useful sometimes, I guess.
