[This is the one time he got the desk to cooperate with him, thank God. Apparently fixing the wobbly leg on it made it stop rebelling? Who knows really, not Gnosis who is finally not working on the floor.
He just. Looks up at Enciodes. They both have eyebags.]
Have you ever known me to not be thorough? [ He's not pulling up a chair, he's just sitting his butt on the desk. The proper use for anything table-esque. This man is gay and doesn't know how to use a chair right. ] I've been collecting the notes we've received about the entity in each family meeting and there's a couple of things that I've been able to conclude.
[ And he won't go into too much verbal detail here, since he's at least aware there's some risk that carries. He slides a couple of papers out to set them up in order.
The first paper has information from Heimr's notebook. Things like "Entity cannot read. Entity knows one's fears and loves. Poss. doesn't understand sign? Weakened. Cannot escape the forest. Ever? Temporary? It's been thousands of years...?" and such.
The second, "Sleeps through the winter. Best time to strike. It's creatures hibernate, too. Hivemind? Forced slumber so they can't escape?"
The third is a calendar that's been tracking the cycles of moon. Full moon, new moon, half moon, the description of which moon is showing up every night... it's needlessly extensive. He has a couple future dates circled in the winter that might be the best times to go, as well as hours and such. ]
I'm still working a bit more extensively on the "how," but considering... [ Points at the calendar. ] ...we're not too pressed to get that part done immediately.
Though, I was hoping to get your opinion on what I had planned.
[These are all good observations. Gnosis hadn't considered the possibility of it being a hivemind, or a forced slumber of a type. And the moons, too, good God.
Gnosis... cannot focus this month, so his mind wanders mid-reading to "my husband is so smart" and motherfucker focus. Fucking focus— brain you've never had this problem before please stop doing this.
Ahem.
Since the Creature likely doesn't understand Sign, though, Gnosis takes to that — since they're talking about killing it and nowhere is safe, after all.]
The observations are excellent. I do have some concerns — the first is that we're unsure what it looks like, beyond what I saw in that dream anyway. It's possible that something changed somewhere, and that leads to the broader question of how the hell we'll find it. The more obvious concern that I have is simply how many people will be brought with you, and how we can prevent losses.
Admittedly, these plans and observations are extremely bare bones at the moment. But giving us a timeframe to start with will at least help us in trying to figure out where the cracks in our plans are so we have the time to remedy it.
Even if we knew what it looks like, we know that it can shapeshift due to Heimr's story with his son, so I'm not sure how reliable that would be. Even if it's asleep, perhaps it could have some sort of cloak. However, we know Heimr has the truth-revealing glasses, and we know that it's likely a source of the corruption, therefore it's likely to react to the sun and moon shard - Mizuki and Zahliya respectively. I believe finding him that way will be ideal for us.
As for how many people brought... this would be our last stand, and I'm sure everyone wants to get their hits into this fucker. I'm hesitant to bring more than needed, but I feel this is something I won't really have a choice on, as I'll be revealing this plan to everyone shortly.
I know for a fact everyone, even the newer people here, want to get involved in this. But we need a coordinated effort — more than simply letting Mizuki and Zahliya lead the way. We're also sans a Guardian right now, and Callan and Vash are both still Corrupted. Do you intend to do this with them in that state?
I'm not against it. It's well-thought out, and I agree that we should make a move while we have the numbers to do so. My hesitation lies in the fact that there's no telling if the bastard will gain control of Vash or Callan, like with Elsword so long ago.
No, of course not. And I'm hesitant to let the more... reckless people join. I believe teams could work to some extent, but I'm sure you understand my hesitation when it comes to that as well. We would need solid leaders in each "group", and there's very few among us that I feel confident to take that role.
With that in mind, though, it is the tail end of summer now, and I'm suggesting we strike in the dead of winter. We have time to prepare - to fix Vash and Callan. It will take some efforts, but I believe if we can ask for help from the Guardians, we'll be in much better shape. Perhaps we could even ask for help from the Cosmic Serpent, as they seem to be the most unbiased, yet powerful ally compared to those we have in the Grove.
It's a worthwhile idea, and I do agree that asking the Serpent for help could provide something. As far as I know, it doesn't often give it, but the stakes seem particularly high in this case. We do have the leverage of saying that the Forest could indeed destroy the ocean if it so chose... even though, judging by the voice that was in our heads earlier, it doesn't seem fond of it.
I suppose, in a way, a lack of fondness eventually can lead to destruction, if the megalomaniac so chooses.
[Hm.]
I wouldn't mind leading one of the groups. You know my ability to strategize is on-par with yours.
[It's just he tends to be way more reckless if he has someone to protect which is... probably an issue here, considering.]
You know I more than trust you to lead, but I think expeditions like that needs more thorough planning. This is just the foundation. And I think all avenues need to be considered before I can give you a go ahead like that...
I will be researching in the Archives for anything that might be relevant, and ideally soon I will have more than just this. But, as always, you are the first person to know what I am up to. I thought you would like to know...
[ And he leans over to press a kiss against his forehead. ]
sometime this month idk
Shoves all the things off his desk and drops a bunch of paper onto it and looks directly at Gnosis with a glint in his eyes (ignore the eyebags). ]
I have a plan to kill the Creature.

Is this where you've been all night?
[Leafing through the documents...]
This is extensive.

I hope you've been resting, at least, my love.

Resting? Come now. You've known me for how many decades now? I've been sleeping about as much as usual.
[Which is not at all. Which Enciodes will know, because it's very fucking late and they should both be sleeping.]
no subject
So, none? Hm. Come on, then. This is something we should sleep on, anyway. I'll tire you out if you feel you need it~.
no subject
You know I hardly sleep without it.
[Sometimes you have to rail your husband until the sleep catches up, okay.]
